Jennifer Dent

Laid off from her corporate job right before the holidays in 2007, Jennifer made the decision to stop interviewing for the next corporate gig and follow her dream to become an employer rather than an employee.

As an entrepreneur, Jennifer realized there are many ways to generate income so she decided to indulge in her favorite past time, event planning. Her first event, Would You Marry You? quickly sold out and she realized that she may be on to something big. Thus Jennifer Dent Events was created. The goal of Jennifer Dent Events is to offer informative and interactive events that add value to the lives of her target audience.

Multiple Streams of Income

Over the years, Jennifer learned the importance of generating multiple streams of income. In addition to her event planning company, she also owns investment properties in the Philadelphia area and she recently wrote her first eBook, “Create an Exceptional Event: Your Seven Step Guide to Planning an Event with Ease.

Giving Back

Her professional success and accomplishments has not hindered this entrepreneur from serving. She lives by the biblical quote, “To whom much is given, much is required.” She is extremely active in her community and church, First African Baptist Church in Sharon Hill, PA. In church, she sings on the choir and serves as a ministry leader of a group for high school girls entitled G.U.E.S.S. (Girls Understanding Education Success and Society).

In the community, she is the founder of the Philadelphia Minority Professionals GIVE BACK Meetup organization (www.meetup.com/giveback). This group was established in April 2008 with the purpose of bringing together professionals in the Philadelphia area who are committed to empowering the community by giving back to charitable causes. The group membership continues to grow and is over 300 members strong.

The Foundation

Jennifer attended Mount Saint Joseph Academy in Flourtown, PA. From “The Mount”, she attended Hampton University in Hampton, VA where she graduated with a B.A. in Mass Media Communications. Upon graduation, she received the prestigious CITED fellowship where she was able to attend Indiana University in Bloomington, IN. She graduated with a M.S. in Instructional Systems Technology. This degree led her directly to the corporate world where she worked as a management consultant for over 9 years with Ernst & Young LLP and Accenture (formally Anderson Consulting).
